Kyrie Irving was born on March 23rd 1992, in Melbourne Australia but live in Cue. He then moved to the Untied States at the age of 2. Irving's mother died from illness when he was only 4 so he was raised by his father with help of his aunts. He grew up in West Orange, New Jersey and his inspiration to play professional basketball was on a fourth grade field trip where he played at Continental Airlines Arena.
Irving played at Montclair Kimberly Academy his freshman and sophomore years of high school. He averaged 26.5 PPG, he was the second 1,000 point scorer in school history. He led them to a Prep B State Title. Junior year transferred to St. Patrick High School where he played with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Irving had 17 PPG and led them to 3rd New Jersey Tournament of Champions title in 4 years. The following year St. Patrick was banned from the state tournament. St. Patrick went 24-3 and won a Union county tournament championship. Irving finished up senior year dropping 24 PPG 5 Rebounds 7 Assists. |
